The name Genjo is of Indian origin and means Original Silence; a Buddhist name for calmness and serenity.
For me, this name is more than just a name. Much more it is an attitude towards life - I believe, as much as the saying is dripping with kitsch - in silence lies strength (uugh).
Strength that I can then use to face the often adventurous daily IT routine. Because one thing is clear, in IT no day is like the other and if we don't keep a cool head, things can quickly get heated.
Apart from that, I don't want to say much more about myself. If you want to get to know more, just ask me :)
You can reach out to me via PGP-Secured Email, or on E2E-Encrypted Matrix.
You can even check the authenticity of my identity on Keyoxide.
Oh, speaking of which, I host some handy open source tools free-of-charge: a MicroBin instance for E2E encrypted Code/Text/Filesharing, an open-source E2E encrypted zero-knowledge collaboration platform Cryptpad, a Matrix- and Telegram-Community-Room and even a Teamviewer-like but open-source RustDesk Relay Server (which I tend to call "Managed Services").
As a thank you for a small contribution (5 USD or more) you will get (preliminary) lifetime access (contributors from the start will always have lifetime access) to even more useful open-source tools (which I tend to call "Managed Services Plus"):
- Matrix Homeserver access with unique "@username:northernbytes.de" identifier
- Various bridges to connect other messengers to Matrix (Whatsapp, Telegram, Signal)
- Access to an open-source client-side encrypted VaultWarden password manager instance for Bitwarden
- Access to an open-source E2E encrypted note taking & task sync server for Joplin
- Access to a tracking-free zero-knowledge translate tool SimplyTranslate
- Access to a tracking-free zero-knowledge meta-search engine SearXNG
All these services are operated with a strict zero-knowledge/no-log-policy. All of our services run over a separate Docker container that is preceded by an NGINX instance. Not only is the NGINX instance forced to drop access and error logs by the following code:
access_log off;
error_log off;
In addition, each of our services are also equipped with the following snippet:
logging:
driver: none
In the near future I will publish our source code on Github as well.
So, why not buy me a beer?
Or rather, you may have already guessed, since I'm more of a tea guy...
Thanks a lot and love,
Genjo
PS: You can always check the status of our services here
